Expression through Worship

At Real Life Fellowship, we strive for worship that is authentic. Whether we do this with a full band or no singing at all, what is most important is that our worship transcends our own desires and authentically praises God. The following are just a few things we value in worship at RLF.

Worship is not about you at all. You may disagree with the volume of the music, the choice of creeds, the liturgy we follow, and that’s okay. We are called to love each other, not to always agree with each other. So while we disagree at times, let us never lose sight the one whom we worship, the center of it all, the triune God.

Worship is sacred. Our culture discourages us from using words like “sacred,’’ “holy,” and “divine,” but we must fight this cultural impulse and recognize that as we sing, recite, baptize, and participate in communion; in all forms of worship, there is something mysterious and spiritual going on that is truly awesome. Stand in awe of God’s unlimited glory.

Worship never ends. There is something cool about coming into a space that is filled with the Christian community, symbols of faith, and practices that fill and enrich; however, when the music ends and the people disperse, worship continues. It continues when the teen goes to school, as the single mother balances her kids with her career, and the retired couple pours love and wisdom into their grandchildren. Worship is so much more than a service; it is a way of life.
