Holland Rescue Mission
Since moving to Midtown, RLF has been serving at the Holland Rescue Mission in a number of capacities. First, every Tuesday evening, folks from RLF head down to the mission to help serve dinner to the residents and then fellowship with them over dinner. Second, the RLF community has begun leading chapels at the Family Hope Center, which is the women's mission. Last, RLF has recently begun helping out with the graduation dinner for the life skills and life application graduates. Serving at the mission has been an amazing blessing to the people of RLF.
Recovery Resource Recover Resource is a young person’s recovery ministry. Every week, Mitch, Keith, and their volunteers meet with an young people who long to recover from substance abuse. For more information, contact Mitch Overway at 616-748-6024.
Lakeshore Pregnancy Center LPC is a non-profit Christian pregnancy center that does everything from abstinance education, to free pregnancy tests, to counseling, to aid in baby clothes and other needs. Some of the people at RLF volunteer at LPC in different capacities, so if you are interested in helping out, please contact Derek Owens: derekbowens@gmail.com.
Kerry Nienhuis w/ Campus Crusade For the past few years, RLF has partnered with Carrie, who work with Campus Crusade at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. While we are not able to be there physically, we offering our support to her ministry and cherish her updates
I.N. Network International Needs (I.N.) Network USA is an global missions organization based in Zeeland that focuses on international evangelism, discipleship, and community development. Margit deJong, our volunteer staff member, works part-time with I.N. Alpha Alpha is a group that gets together once a week to discuss the Christian faith with anyone interested in knowing more. This group using some of the the space at RLF every Tuesday night and also welcomes anyone from RLF interested in hleping out. This group is led by Victor.
Poetice Poetice engages in global conversations to artistically bring awareness to social issues as it relates to sexuality. Now, more than ever, the choice to pursue wholeness is a choice to “do justice”. Most abstinence programs end with a commitment. Poetice sees the commitment as a beginning--the beginning of battling the injustice of sexual oppression in our world. Jason DeWaard, our High School Shepherd is also on staff at Poetice.
Young Life
Real Life has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Young Life through the years. Since Real Life began, every spring break we have taken a mixed group of youth, families, and anyone willing out to Lake Champion YL camp in New York for work week. Also, some folks from our community have recently begun volunteering as YL leaders, who are people that walk through life with students.
